Q: We received an order for our product. Customer placed order with credit cards, authorization went through and we shipped the product. Now we get a call saying it was credit card fraud. Are we out thousands of dollars?
A: Unfortunately, you probably are. According to the Merchant Risk Council, merchants have no rights and bear the brunt of credit card fraud (www.merchantfraudsquad.com). They recommend you implement fraud screening programs to protect yourself in the future. This is a tremendous problem for merchants.
