One with $500 credit limit(opened since Jan 09)and the other with $1000 credit limit (opened 2 months before). Both these cards are from different banks. Q: I am quite new to this credit world. Very recently I applied for a secured credit card and now I have one. My question is: how can I build a better credit history? Make large purchases or small ones or keep the card inactive? Whatever the way I use my card I am prepared to make my balance paid in full each month. Please suggest me the best way to use this?

Q: I have a Marathon "Premier" card (the upgraded version of a regular
no-fee gasoline card) that I don't use too often. It costs $35 annually,
and it is my oldest account (1996). It costs $35 annually because it
has some travel benefits that can save you money.
Since this is my oldest account should I
keep it active, even though I don't really buy a lot of Marathon gasoline, or
close it and save the annual fee?
