Shell Oil and Citi have added more octane for new cardholders of their joint "Platinum MasterCard." The new "Double Rebate" promotion offers new cardholders 10% rebates on Shell gasoline purchases and 2% rebates on all other purchases for the first 60 days after receiving their card. The promotion expires January 4th. The "Shell Platinum MasterCard" offers 5% rebates on Shell gasoline purchases; 1% rebates on all purchases everywhere else; rebates automatically credited to cardholders' statements towards future Shell gasoline purchases; no annual fee for the first year, waived thereafter with nine or more Shell gasoline purchases a year; online account management; and lost wallet service.
