Credit card interest rates offered by the nation's largest issuers currently average 13.79%. Average rates now range from 11.66% for low interest rate credit cards to 17.88% for student credit cards. According to Austin, TX-based CreditCards.com, the average interest rate for cards offered to consumers with bad credit is 13.05%. While cards offering cash-back carry an average rate of 13.38%, cards rewarding users with air miles are significantly higher at 15.01%.
