The next generation of credit cards will be coming to your area soon. Chase is making the first national roll-out of contactless general purchase consumer payment cards. The new credit cards with the "blink" enhancement will be phased-in market-by-market in tandem with merchant acceptance. Initially, Chase cardholders will be able to use the contactless function at major movie theaters, convenience and specialty retailers such as 7-Eleven, quick service restaurants, and drug stores. Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain, Sheetz, will be Chase's first partner to launch a co-branded credit card with "blink" functionality. To use Chase cards with "blink," cardholders simply hold their card near a point-of-sale terminal at checkout, instead of swiping their card or handing it to a store employee. As they hold their Chase card with blink near the point-of-sale terminal, the terminal will quickly emit a signal or tone to acknowledge payment confirmation.
