Nearly every American family has been touched by cancer in one way or another. In the fight against cancer, Bell Atlantic Mobile has announced a three-month initiative to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
At a press conference at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, it was announced that Bell Atlantic has created a limited-edition MobileMinutes pre-paid wireless phone card to help fight cancer. The card features the artwork of children who participated in the 1999 Daffodil Days art contest sponsored by Bell Atlantic Mobile and the American Cancer Society (ACS) earlier this year. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these cards will be donated to the ACS to help fund three of their largest annual events:
. . . The Relay for Life
. . . The Bike-a-Thon
. . . Daffodil Days
This is the third year of the corporate partnership between Bell Atlantic Mobile and the American Cancer Society, and the new phone card is Bell Atlantic’s way of showing their continued commitment to the cause. The American Cancer society is known throughout the country for its tireless work as an organization dedicated to eliminating cancer and the suffering it causes, through research, education, advocacy and service.
