Have you ever been on the go and needed to find an ATM FAST? Visa will soon be making locating an ATM a snap with their Visa Global ATM Locator.
The ATM Locator offers an easy way to pinpoint the location of any of Visa’s 450,000 ATM’s in 120 countries worldwide. The service, available on the Internet in English, Spanish and Portuguese, was voted one of Yahoo’s 25 Most Incredibly Useful Internet Services. It is available to users of the Palm VII connected organizer, a new wireless, handheld computing product available from Palm Computing (a 3Com company).
The Palm VII connected organizer provides fast, secure and easy access to personal, business and Internet information from various Web sites remotely via a wireless connection to the Internet. The user just enters the location where they want to find an ATM by typing a street address, phone number or zip code. The ATM Locator then provides a list of the closest ATM’s to that location, including the institution name and address. In addition, in 11 countries, including the U.S., Canada, the UK and Australia, results will even include a map.
With the Palm VII organizer, 3Com also introduces a revolutionary new model for accessing Internet information, called web clipping. Web clipping is a means of extracting a specific set of needed information from a given Web site, by requesting certain types of information via special query forms that reside on the Palm VII device. Information received from the Internet by a Palm VII user is automatically optimized for viewing on the Palm VII screen.
Field trials for the organizer begin in January 1999, and it is expected to be widely available in the U.S. next year.
Whether you’re traveling or at home, with Palm VII and the Visa ATM Locator, you’ll be able to find an ATM fast.
