The 26th annual World Hello Day was recently observed by people in 179 countries, to demonstrate the importance of personal communication for peace. Established in 1973 in response to the conflict between Egypt and Israel, World Hello Day gives people around the world an opportunity to express their concern for world peace. The heads of state of 114 countries have expressed their approval of the program.
Many of the participants in the program greeted 10 people around the world for as little as 19 cents per minute, using the 7-Eleven/AT&T International Prepaid Phone Card.
The new international calling card comes in three denominations, $5, $10 and $20, with competitively- priced per-minute rates as low as: 19 cents for calls to Canada; 22 cents to Mexico; 25 cents to Italy; 29 cents to Australia; 34 cents to Japan; 44 cents to Hong Kong; and 88 cents to South Africa. There is a surcharge of $1 for each call. The domestic rates are even lower, at just 12 cents per minute.
