Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is traditionally the kick-off of the holiday shopping season, and now consumers can safely shop from home online.
Several leaders in electronic commerce and online retailing, MasterCard International (www.mastercard.com), EZSpree (www.ezspree.com), shop.org (www.shop.org), The Association for Interactive Media (www.interactivehg.org), and Family PC Magazine (www.familypc.com), are encouraging consumers to explore the wealth of products and services offered over the internet, and experience the fun and convenience of shopping online.
During the promotion National Online Shopping Week, (www.OnlineShoppingWeek.com), some participating merchants are offering special incentives to consumers, such as free shipping, 10% discounts, free wrapping paper, special gifts or donations to national charities. The promotion Web site provides information on payment security, advice about shopping online, links to participating merchants, and the opportunity to participate in an online shopping survey.
National Online Shopping Week begins on Black Friday, November 27, 1998, and ends Friday, December 4, 1998.
